I have the same scenario with my truck. I tried a few suggestions this weekend.

HOT Water - Didn't work
Ice Cube - Didnt work (I used a popcicle, I had no ice)
WD-40 - Didn't Work
Clay bar - Didn't work
Goo Gone - Works but takes a lot of work.

Goof Off - Worked. Still takes a lot of elbow greese but it's better than everything else I tried.

well thanks for the info never heard of goof off .not sure if i can buy it here in canada but will look i,ll let ya know thanks

I've almost got all the junk off my hood. It was some serious gunk. I still recommend Goof Off. Works best in the sun BTW with a nice warm body panel.
