Question first time waxing

i waxed my truck for the first time ever. (first time i ever waxed anything besides skis or a peice of a$$ [sorry i couldnt resist])
looks nice now but i must say i do need work on the technique.
i used TurtleWax scratch and swirl remover becous ethe main reason i was waxing was becouse i just did some touch up paint so i sanded some areas that need to be waxed out. it worked pretty good but i was thinking of doing another coat or 2.

Is it a good idea to wax again so soon or does it make a difference?
Is there a better product out there for me to get rid of the scratches?
Should i have applied something to the sandpapered parts b4 waxing cuz ithey just dont have the same sheen as the rest of the truck?

sanks you very much

listo,

No offense, but you may have taken on more than you can handle...

Proper wetsanding requires the following skills:

Understaning the correct wetsanding process...
Using the correct type and grade (sometimes multiple grades) of paper...
Using a good cut polish with a rotary buffer to remove the sanding marks...
Followed by polishing out of the cut polish marks with less abrasive polishes...

You need to know just how far you can push the sanding/polishing process before you do damage to the clear-coat.

I've wetsanded and polished out the wetsanding marks/scratches on hundreds of vehicles... it still taxes my skills every time I do it... and I've been doing this stuff for over 40 years.

The dull spots (or spots that lack sheen) are probably the sanding marks that need to be polished out... or polished to a point that doesn't damage the clear.

My advise would be to take it to a pro detailer.

Hope this helps.
