Them dirrty wheel-wells... *SOLUTION*

ok, just found this out. I'm sure everyone already know's, but it works great to clean the fender wells (sp?) in the front. The black plastic stuff that is alway's a nasty brownish color even after soap and water.... Well, I figured something that will clean them to better than new condition.

Carpet Cleaner. Just happened to try some, and it worked great. I sprayed it all over the area like I was painting it, let is set for about 30 seconds while I got some shop towels, then wiped it down with a few towels and it was good to go. Now that its dried, it still looks great. Very dark black and shiny. I'll update as a few miles are put on, and will post pics up for everyone to see.

Anyone see a downside to this?

I dont think so. It seems to work great and give a good shine to the wells. The amorall stuff seems to have a good cleaning component to it that gets a lot of the grit out. I usually spray and then wipe down. Lasts pretty long.

As for adverse effects from carpet cleaner... hard to say. I'm not familiar with how it might react with plastic/rubber like what is found in our wheel wells.

In my opinion, cleaning wheel wells is one of the single most important things to do in really making the appearance of a vehicle stand out from the rest.

As for dressings in the wells, I don't have a favorite. In fact, this is where dressings I don't like go to die. In short, if I experiment with a dressing and it falls short of making it into the starting lineup, odds are that it'll end up 'blacking out' a wheel well.
