Question Touchless Carwashes & Wax

Does a touchless carwash strip off car wax? I waxed my truck last weekend with a coat of nxt, wouldn't the touchless strip it off? Right now my truck is clean with the exception of the thick layer of dust on it. I have always avoided the touchless carwashes, but it sure would take care of the dust.

Does the wax/sealant that a touchless carwash sprays hurt anything?

If it is basically clean why not just hose it off?

1) No, it won't strip off wax. All a touchless carwash is is water and some diluted chemicals applied and removed with high pressure. It doesn't clean worth a shiat unless you have little to no dirt on there.

2) The "waxs" and "sealants" applied in the carwash tunnel, or the touchless run through, are not waxes or sealants. They are high or low PH solutions that aid in the cleaning and protection of the clear coat. Do they work you ask? Well, it depends on the operator of the faacitlity. If he or she is milking it for all its worth and has the chemical turned down so far you could bath in it and not feel chemical burn, then no it probably isn't doing anything for you. But, if titrated correctly, they will aid in longetevity of your clear coat and aid in keeping you fresh wax in good shape. Quite frankly, as a car wash general manager, I would tell you to stay away from those, and just go over to the in bay self service and use the pressure gun

The touchless car washes in my area absolutely do remove wax - even snythetics like NXT and Zaino. By the way, I'm talking the automatic, car gets pulled through while you sleep car washes - not the kind where you spray it yourself. The only thing that fools you into thinking that they don't remove wax is the final step of adding a cheap "spay wax" that causes water to bead up - for a day or so. Don't believe me? Ask my neighbor who didn't beleive it either - until he took his freshly detailed (by me) black Impala SS though one. Everything went bye-bye. Come to think of it though, I got to charge him to do it all over again!

I don't trust any of those auto matic car washes. I think they will stip off the wax, but the thing I don't like about them is they don''t dry the vehicle well and helps cause water spots not to mention they don't clean well. I do all of my detail by hand

i used to go through the touchless all the time when it snowed. it was an easy way to get the salt off my truck when my hose was frozen. now i just go to the bays where you pull and DIY, its cheaper that way too...
