Dashboard & Interior Trim Care

Hey everyone. What is the best product to use for the cleaning the dashboard, door panels, etc. I want something that will give it the new look and the uv protection but without the extreme shine coating. I've used armor all in the past on other cars, but the results are too shiny and after a while it dries up the dash board and looks like crap. Need to keep reapplying to keep it looking decent. Any suggestions on which product to use? Thanks.

I had a scuffed place on my truck dash at the end. The place that you see when the driver's door is opened. I took it to a lady who repaired the scuff mark. She does outstanding work with original color dyes.

He only recommendation was to under NO CIRCUMSTANCES to use Armor-All on a dash unless I liked coming to see her often. Much of her business is repairing what Armor-All does to dashboards.

I use the Meguiar's product for vinyl, etc. It looks nice and has UV protectors.

I used the Meguiars #40 vinyl and Rubber Conditioner and I liked it, I did find that it left a shiny finish that seemed to attract dust. I just picked up some Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer, I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I read alot of good reviews about it.

I like using Meguiar's NXT ****pit Shine. It does leave a shine on the dashboard but it looks really good on my tan interior. I used on a black dashboard and it is very shiny.

Kevin

I did not put the **** in the name the website did. Doesn't like that word I guess.

If you were looking for a product that cleans well, leaves an extremely matte finish, and does not attract much dust... the Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer will fit the bill nicely!

That's what I was looking for, I hate when a product leaves a shiny finish that causes the sun to glare off of it or one that looks like it needs to be cleaned 30 min after I wiped it down because it attracts some much dust. Thanks Boss

Boss is right...

The Quik Detailer Interior is really a fantastic product. I use it regularly.

Hunt4Fun,

Just out of curiosity, what kind of damage was she seeing fom Armor All? Remember, the formula has changed in recent years too.

I believe the silicones and other ingredients (solvents potentially) were causing accelerated deterioration of vinyl covered foam and other 'plastic-like' products.

I have never liked Armorall. It leaves a terrible oder, especially when heated by the sun. Since the dash is plastic, doesn't a damp cloth work just as well?

Both Meguiar’s Quik Interior Detailer and Meguiars’ #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner / Conditioner clean very well and are not to shiny. As far as UV protection, Meguiars’ #40 list this right on the label but Quik Interior Detailer does not.

I use the Low Shine Armor All on the interior of my 05 Supercrew. It puts a real nice finish on it that isn't too shiny. It works really well. The only place I have been able to find it though is at Target down here in Tallahassee.
