Unhappy Bird***** on my 04!!!

Guys, I hope you can help me. Yesterday I found some birdcrap on my gloss black B pillar. I washed the truck as soon as I found it, but it was after a 95+ degree day, and now I have dull back swirls marks that outline the ***** stain. I tried using a Bug and Tar remover that said it could remove birdcrap, but the dull marks are still there. Any suggestions on how to be rid of this mark on my truck?

You can use a polishing compound and that will get rid of it. I removed a really bad bird $*#@ stain from someones car where the stain had been their for years with 3M Polishing Compound. Just be very careful not to ruin your paint, and make sure you put a coat of wax ontop of that B Pillar when your done using the compound.

I'm almost certain that the b-pillars are single stage paint...

When you tried the B&T remover, did your towel show signs of 'black' as if you were removing paint?

FYI, you're probably not going to be able to totally remove it but, we can probably lessen the appearance.

I didn't notice any black residue coming off on the towel, but then again I wasn't real aggressive with it, either. I'm going to try the rubbing compound idea, and see what I can do with it...freakin birds, getting even with me after my run-in with a mocking bird last week!!

Good luck... like I mentioned, it might be a tough one to totally remove.

Also, with the compound, don't 'focus-in' on a spot and rub and rub. If it is clearcoated (mine are flat black so I can't really test on my 05'), the compound will spin through the clear on that panel in short order (ie: definitely ruinining it) so, with that in mind, be VERY careful with that area. Think of a 'rubbing compound' as 4000 grit sandpaper.

I don't think you can stress enough how careful you have to be with the compounds. They can be your best friend and your worst enemy if your not careful.

Have you tried Meguiars Body Scrub I know some automotive places sell it.

Don't go laughing too hard...my truck is a FX4 version of yours! Keep laughing and you'll have every bird nearby circling your truck like a buzzard in the desert smelling rotten meat!

Wait a minute...I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...keep your truck under cover....

If caught soon enough, sure. Just about any product would honestly.

If I'm not mistaken, PB's BS Remover is a bit more on the alkaline side of the spectrum in an effort to balance the pH from the bird poo (acid). Etching, on the flip side, is a different story unfortunately...
