Black window trim

Hey, I waxed my truck and seeing as the polisher isn't a precision tool, I got some wax on the black rubber trim around the windows and it looks terrible. What can I use to get this back to the satin black is used to be? I tried Mothers Back to Black and it just made the areas with wax all glossy. I used Armor All and it looked uniform for a little while at least but still shiny.
Thanks.

I would try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. But I own a 97, and I have heard of some major problems on the 04's using it. So, test it in an inconspicuous place, then wait 24 hours, and if there is no damage, you can probably go ahead and use it to remove the wax residue.

BFG is correct. I used the MrC ME with GREAT SUCCESS on my 01's rubber moldings (I did not try it on plastic and wouldn't recommend it). There have, however, been horror stories with the MrC ME on the 04+ moldings/plastic.

Thanks guys. Mine is an '03 so hopefully there won't be a problem. I'll try to find some Mister Clean Magic Eraser today. Is it a liquid in a bottle?

It works by abrasion. Pending the moldings weren't changed from 01 to 03, you should be golden (and I seriously doubt that they were).

You'll probably find them in the CLEANING section (not the automotive although, I think they make an automotive version that is a bit more abrasive?).

You just have to be very careful, because essentially, it's just a fine grit sandpaper. Just be smart about it.

Thanks for the picture, etc. I got it and it works perfect! I wish I knew about this stuff when I had my Supercoupe.

Glad that worked out... just be reminded though that this is the type of product that should be tested before use... as was mentioned, there have been some horror stories that have been told as a result of this product.
