Simple Green
Hmmm....I have used simple green on several occasions on different vehicles without any negative results. I have used it twice on my F-150 with no adverse reaction. When I sold my dodge, I used simple green to clean the whole interior (smoked in) and it still looks great. How old is the truck that you were cleaning? I'm sure an aggressive cleaner could deteriorate the threads, but I have had no problems, even at full strength.

Diluted to the right ratio, it may be okay. SG, straight up in concentrate form, isn't a good idea.
There are far too many parts/pieces (espeically your plastics and vinyls) that can stain (especially lighter colors). You'll get a 'spray bottle pattern' on the vinyl or on the coating for the leather.
In a nutshell, there are better and safer chemicals to use on some of the more sensative areas in an interior...
I'll compare it to this... you could take a baby and slather it in GoJo hand cleaner to get it clean but, it's probably not the best of ideas... ya know?

Simple Green is one of the few products that I will just not use. Sure, if diluted properly it will work, but you just never know, and it only takes one mistake.
I prefer Aerospace 303 cleaner... safe to use on your hands at full strength, but cleans extremely well.
