Getting a new truck what to do?
Im getting a new truck...what should i do when i bring it home off the lot( wash it, wax it...wut?)? should i let the dealership wash it ( Ricart Ford) or should i tell them no. any help would be appriciated! want to keep this beauty looking beautiful! by the way its not and f150 rather a f250 crew lariat fx4 6.0l...my dream truck finally go the money from a scholarship to get it so i thought id make it last u noe? lol well any help would be greatly appricaited thanks!!!
Yikes! I bought my previous vehicle from Ricart... they washed my vehicle after a service appointment and I had to rewash it. It was filthy.
Besides they have, what, 7000 vehicles on their lot and sell a car every 3 minutes?
Do yourself a favor and look through this forum - there's been much written on what to do with a new truck.

I think most would tell you to wash with a high quality soap, use a clay bar (to remove contaminates from transport and dealer lot), polish (optional, but if you're going to do it, do it right), and wax and then wax again...
Congratualtions on the new truck!

The best advice I can give is to read up in our forums... your question is, generally, open ended and could take pages and pages to answer...
There are a lot of great products on the market but, you should play around with a few different ones so that you obtain the look that you desire; everyone has different tastes.
Further, I'd ask them to skip the 'dealer prep'. Not too many of them do it well... and, if it's a dark color, the introduction of swirls may be a real threat.

Try this one... I think you posted in this thread too. Look down the thread for advice. I don't think you'll need the third step on a new vehicle.

Ricart is the suck.
Let us know if you're able to pick it up without them trying to rework the numbers on you.

Whats wrong with ricart? My dads in with Ret...hes the owner of ricart ford in columbus...He going to give me a f250 or f350 lariat diesel crew Fx4 FULLY LOADED for around 30,000 with my trade of a 97 f150 xlt ext. cab 4x4 with 90000 miles on it. Its good to know the owner
but still what do you mean "rework the numbers" we've bought all of our vehicles there so i duno....but i think 30000 for that truck is fair!
