Paint curing

Well,

This past Friday I got all 4 of my fender flares repainted (2 per warranty). I asked the body shop manager and he said to wait 30 days before you wax them like everyone else has said before; he also said the paint was "baked" on so I shouldn't have too many problems. My question is can I use the DIY car wash to clean the fender flares? I was thinking I would be OK using the normal soap instead of the "super" soap and using it at low pressure instead of at high pressure or I could just utilitze the rinse feature just to rinse some of the dirt off. I would wash it myself but it is only going to be around 35 degrees here and that's too cold to wash by hand.

You mean the 'wand wash' soap?

Not sure man... that stuff is VERY caustic and I'm not sure what type of effect it would have. Probably could but, I'm just not sure.

Has anyone seen how their soaps come packaged? They're in a little 1 foot by 1 foot by 9 inch box. According to one of the owners I had to interview for an environmental assessment, he claims that box will last about a week or two with normal useage. That should really tell everyone just how caustic this stuff really is... even diluted.

Yes, I was talking about the wand wash soap. Maybe I'll just rinse the truck, no soap, and wait till it warms up so I can hand wash. I'd rather take all the precautions I can now so I don't have problems later.
