QDs - Which one / How to use

I just got a new 2004 SCrew. I have read most of the forums and followed along (I think). I am planning the following -

Wash - Cotton/Terry Mitt with Car wash

Insert QD here, but what kind, Meguiars #88? And how do you apply it / remove it.

Meguiars #9 as necessary (with foam app on / DFT off)

Meguiars NXT (foam on / MF off)

Meguiars #26 Liquid (foam on / MF off)

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I really want to keep this truck looking great!! Thanks for the help.

You have some good steps already. I can tell you did some research.

For QD'ing, Meguiars Final Inspection is supposed to be great and cheap. I also hear great things about Clearkote Quickshine.

Procedure:

1: Spray onto an application or small towel
2: Wipe onto small section of body panel
3: Buff off with a MF towel

I haven't found very many "bad" QD's.............. but do prefer some better than others. Meguiar's Final Detail is currently my favorite on carnauba waxes. On synthetics, I like 4 Star's Ultimate Gloss Enhancer, and on Zaino, the Z6 is tough to beat.

I have a sample of QuickShine that I dying to try to see how it compares.

For most QD's on a clean surface, I do it a little different than APT, as I like to find a bottle that sprays a fine mist, and mist it right on the paint, and spread it with my DFTowel........... flip the towel to the dry side and buff.

On a dusty/lightly dirty surface, I prefer Poorboy's Spray & Wipe used with a "plush" MF towel, using the same "spray/fine mist" process above.

For QD's with carnauba in them, or Quick Waxes, I use the same process as APT.
