Trim problem

The interior black trim is coming off on the driver's side near the curve by the grab handle. I keep pushing it back in place but everytime you shut the door it comes apart again. Do you think that it is too tight? Anyone else have this problem?

Interior or exterior trim? I'm not sure what you're talking about...

The trim is the one circled but it is higher up on the inside of the cab. I just found this pic quickly of someone else's truck just to give you an idea of the trim piece.

The item circled in that picture is actually a seal isn't it? But, I know you've mentioned that the 'trim' that you're describing is INSIDE the cab. I'm assuming that you mean the plastic trim that surrounds the grab handles? The trim that runs up the A pillar?

I know all of the plastic trim simply 'snaps' into place using clips and such to secure it. If yours is popping off all of the time, I'd certainly say that would be something that they would cover under warranty as it sounds like the clips simply aren't holding well....

Actually it is the seal. Should I take it all off of one side and then put back on?

I see that it's a 2003 based on your signature line... I'd make it a warranty issue and have Ford fix it.

Just me...

If you were to pull it off, I'm not sure what type of glue would be best suited to bond rubber to metal. I'm sure it could be easily done but, utilizing the wrong glue and such could just result in more problems down the road. The proper way to toally illeviate the problem might be that they have to remove all of that seal and replace it.

Keep us posted.

Thanks. I was thinking about taking it for warranty, just worried what those guys would do. I have only had the new truck for 5 months and I am noticing little things wrong. I will be taking it in next week.

Hey you should just have a forum called, "Ask Rockpick"

Took the truck in for maintenance and they fixed the seal problem. They had to re-glue the seal on.

I also had a leather cracking issue on the driver's back section. They are ordering a new panel. Does this mean they will just remove the seat and restitch the new panel in

They're too lazy to do all that work. The leather seat cover is just a skin that they will peel off of the entire seat and put a new one on.
