'04 Badges on '03

I want to change the side badges on my "03 to the '04 style badges. I understand that the old badges are held on by pins(as well as the double sided tape) Are the '04 badges the same and if they are pinned are the pin holes the same?. If they are held on by double sided tape only do the new badges cover the old holes?

Sorry about the questions but I am currently in New Zealand so we have no '04 vehicles that I can go and see just how big the badge is. Some dimensions would be great

Cheers and Merry Christmas

RHD150,

Hopefully, one of the guys here has some info for you. If not, you could check out the following:

http://www.fordf150.net/photopost/sh...00&ppuser=6372

This is "ford4life" gallery at F150.net, he has the 2004 emblems on his 2003. Maybe you could contact him for more info.

Hope this helps.

yes the 04 badges are double sidded tape and pins, but the pins are further apart then the 01 badges ( which I think are the same as your ).

The front fender badge ( p/n : 4L3Z-16720-FA for the XLT 5.4 Triton one ) is about 3/4" / 19mm longer then 01 fender badges on my SCrew.

The tailgate one seems to be about the same 3/4" longer then the 01 badge on my SCrew ( SuperCrew badge ).

Once I get time to accetone my 04 badges, I am going to put them on. I am going to grease pen the line from the old badge and figure out which pin to clip off the new one, and use the grease line and single pin to line up the new ones.

Hope that makes sense.

The straight F-150 tailgate badge is p/n : 4L3Z-16720-AA.

Double check the part numbers, I wrote www.fordoemparts.com an email, and they gave me these as the p/n to order.

Good luck

I'm sure you could grind the one pin off and use the other pin with doubled sided tape, and you should be fine.

Jeff,

Did you use the front hole or the rear hole for that ?

Or another way...which pin did you clip off, the one towards the bumper, or the one towards the door.

Hope that makes sense, it has been along day for me so far at work.

Thanks

Steve

I clipped both of them off, I had such a hard time getting the old emblems off with the adhesive that I know for a fact they aren't moving anywhere.
