A/C problems...HELP!!
A/C problems...HELP!!
Hi,
I just noticed that my A/C when set to the coolest setting will blow cold air for a few minutes and then blows hot air. Another thing I noticed is that when the cold air is blowing and I am at a stop, it immediately switches to hot when I take off. I am also unable to switch to hot/cold on the temperature selector. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
C

Chonky,
First off what year is your truck? The A/C blowing cold then hot - it could be low on freon or the clutch is going out. When the engine is running at idle with the A/C on - does the compressor clutch cycle a lot or does it stay cycled (on)? As far as your temp selector goes - if it is vaccum controled - there is probably a leak somewhere. If it is cable controled - the cable has probably come off of the mounting point for it has broken.
