Meguiars Customer Service

Ok, you Zaino guys can take a break for a minute.

Since we all bellyache when we think we've received really bad service, I thought I'd pass this little experience along. I pretty much use the Meguiars Professional Line of products exclusively for detailing my cars. I placed an order a couple weeks ago and got my order timely and with no issues. Next thing you know, two days later a duplicate order shows up on my doorstep (again, about $150 worth of products). Trying to do the ethical / honest thing, I called Meguiars to make them aware of the mistake. They thanked me and issued a pickup from UPS, and the stuff went back to the factory. Now here's the kicker. I got a call from a Meguiars rep today once again thanking me for my honesty and apologizing for their mistake and wanting to send me something as a gift. I suggested a t-shirt, but by the end of our conversation, he had suggested sending me a gallon of Gold Class car wash, and a gallon of Final Inspection (two products I indicated I use a lot off). Oh yeh, he also threw in a t-shirt too. Now that's want I call building customer loyalty through super service!

Good products from a good company. I'm more impressed than ever with these guys.

That's good to hear! They do take care of their customers when it comes to things like that. However, sometimes calling their CS for questions about their products, or use of their products can leave you with your head spinning?

I totally disagree Boss. I've called three or four times myself with questions about product useage and recommendations on products...

They've always left me with an EXCELLENT taste in my mouth (I think it was a filet mignon... not sure).

Nothing but good service, all the way around, from Meguiars... Great testimonial Big... I would've been hard pressed to send the duplicate box back but, like you, I know I would've. It's really great to see someone get rewarded for total honesty. It is Lent ya know.

Hence, I'll never use another product on my vehicles.

Meguiars has customer service? Hmmm, must mean they sometimes have dissatisfied customers? Hmmm, don’t recall ZAINO’S having a customer service, suppose that’s because there is “never” a dissatisfied customer….

01... it's a Farmer. Remember the cow farm? There's a reason that customer service doesn't exist on the Zaino farm... he's too busy 'breeding cows' to make sure that he can keep up with demand...

To each their own, but you come on a forum and bad mouth a quality product only shows your immaturity. Zaino is a fine product, but so is Meguiars. This is a big boys forum and we should act like big boys.

RP,

I've called and/or emailed their CS several times in regards to products. While they were always friendly and helpful, I would get different answers to the same questions. For example "Does Quick Detailer contain silicone"? One response was yes, while the other was no. I've recieved the same type answers on some questions that were much more difficult.

Now, I can relate a story from someone who talked to some Meguiar's people at an large car show. The Meguiar's people were very nice when they talked and answered questions about their products. When confronted with some questions about their products vs other products, some of these same Meguiar's people got very rude and nasty. Now, this may be a one or two bad apples in the bunch, but it tends to leave a bit of a "sour" taste in my mouth.

Still, I believe that Meguiar's makes a good line of products, and I really don't care about their CS or anybody else's for that matter, as long as they make good good products, make good on any problems I might have, and get my products to me in a timely fashion. After all, it's only wax and stuff for a vehicle........... and it's really not that important.

I understand where you're coming from Boss... point well taken.

Torque... don't get so torqued... we're all messing around. There's a fine line between immaturity and having fun. All things that you read aren't necessarily meant to be taken as gospel. A sense of humor is a virtue.

Hey 01, I wondered which of the Zaino boys would weigh in first! By the way, I think you have a coat of Z2 (or was it Z1 or Z6 or ZFX) that needs to be removed!

That's too bad man. I spent the afternoon doing mine today since we had beautiful blue skies and 85 degrees. I can still smell the lingering aroma of Meguiars in my garage. It was a very good day! Just because I don't use Zaino doesn't mean I can't be excessive compulsive about my truck too!

You suck...

Nothing wrong about being "excessive compulsive" about your truck, thats why our trucks look so damn good, regardless of what polish/wax one uses.

Zaino is a great product, Meguiars is a great product and there are some others. But not even Zaino or Meguiars are a good enough product to make a Chevy look good...
