Talking Covince me to use Zaino!

Ok. I was on the Zainobros sight trying to convince myself to use there products. Just after looking at some pics over at Autopia and then at the pics on the Z site. I am impressed! But damn the process and how long it takes Before using there polishes however, I need to use some Abrasive polishes like Medallion Paint Cleaner or DACP (#83 Dual Action cleaner Polish) Then I will need to rewash with dawn, clay, then the Z thing. All this could take some time but I would say the results are well worth it. I recently used Pro's Clay Away 4 for the clay bar on my truck, with no improvements there . But I did find out what was causing my problem. Anyway, If anyone has any advice or suggestion they want to throw in, go for it. Tks,,,,,,,,91

Zaino has a half step more than any other wax/sealant. Either apply Z1 (do not remove) or mix ZFX with the Z2 or Z5. That is all. Everything else in the Zaino instructions are just general detailing prodecures. You can choose to use them or not, but doing so will have an impact on apperance. Actaully, many carnuba waxes look better with a glaze which would be equal to Zaino.

I like Zaino a lot, but I prefer other products on darker colors. The strength of Zaino is its longevity which has gone about 8 months on one of my cars. but I think other products look better.

So, you used clay and didn't feel any difference? Consider yourself lucky to have a good paint surface, then. Next, polish out the swrils, then apply the protectant of your choosing.

A good looking vehicle is 10% products and 90% procedure & effort.

APT,

I used the clay bar but I was using a car wash for the lub instead of a QD/clay lube or something. See I was using the car wash right out of the bucket, but not the same water I used to wash my truck with no! I rinsed out the bucket and refilled with Warm Water and GC Shampoo. Had I used a QD or mix the car wash and water together in a spray bottle, the clay bar would be doing it's job properly. But because, I was using the car wash from the bucket, I suspect it made the surface to slick and lubed for the clay to grab hold of anything. Next time I go to clay I will try mixing the car wash in a spray bottle or get the proper QD for it,,,,91

Just can't take my advice over AIM can you?

Look up above my post... it's someone who DOESN'T think that Z is the miracle liquid. Sure, he's one of few but, with results that you can get from Meguiars Mirror Glaze, who needs something to make life more difficult?

Meguiars all the way.

I use car wash shampoo as a lubricant just as you did, and I can feel a difference, but my paint needed it. If the bar slid smoothly, then your paint is in good shape.

Anyway, there are a lot of great products. Try them if you'd like. However, if you liek what you use now, might as well wait until it is used up.

The one thing I would add to what APT stated is after you have washed your truck and it is dry run your fingers across the paint surface. If it feels nice and smooth then your paint is in good condition. If you feel some little rough spots here and there, kind of like what paint overspary might feel like, then you would want to clay that area. That is what I did on my truck. I had a few small areas that did not feel smooth.

I used some Zaino carwash mixed with water in a bottle for the lub. It worked great. After I dried the area it did not feel rough anymore it felt smooth.

Meguiars is a great product by all means. From my personal experience I have found that nothing on the market outlast Zaino. I Zainoed before winter and went through all winter with only car washes, no hand wash, no Zaino etc. That was about 20 - 35 car washes, lots of road salt etc. My truck, because of Zaino was still beading water as if I had just applied a fresh coat of Zaino.

That Zaino shines, just keeps, going, and going, and going...

Clean Black paint will shine like that with no wax though

Here's a picture with my favorite product called Nothing. Pick it up for free!

Don't pay attention to the orange peel. It is a fiberglass bedcover after all...
