how do you buff scratches out of the clearcoat?

how do you buff scratches out of the clearcoat?

Washed my truck today and put some scratches on the hood. Fortunatly its only in the clear coat.

What is the best way to get em out?

Assuming your talking about the little microscratches in the paint, there fairly easy to get out. What you can do is if you have a local parts store nearby you that sells products like, cleaner waxes, mild abrasive polishes, you should be able to get them out pretty easily. Use good brand name products like Meguiars professional line, Prowax (Pro) etc...

If your straches are more deep into the clearcoat then you can use a product specifically for removing individual deeper sctraches like Meguiars Sctrach X. Hope this helps you out,,,,,,91

Do you need a buffer to apply them? Can I just do it by hand?

If they are minor, Meguiar's #9 might get them out......... and yes, you can do it by hand, but it's not easy!
