No... not correct. Very common misconception.

First, I would recommend reading your manual. It shows how to remove the bulbs. (I'm assuming that you have a 97+)

There are 'tabs' above the headlight assembly that you simply LIFT UP on and the entire assembly will come right out. Here's a hint too, remove your corner assemblies (held on with one bolt in the compartment)... this will make reinstallation a breeze.

Enjoy the new bulbs.

No problemo... I tried to do the same thing the first time I pulled my bulbs... very common problem...

Trust me on the recommendation to remove the corners... it'll help a boat load.

I put in a set of Sylvania Silverstars last weekend and had a heck of a time getting the headlight assembly out. Even with removing the clear corners. I couldnn't figure out why they were so hard to remove. I ended up moving the rad overflow tank to put the new bulbs in.

Removing them for the first time is definately a major PITA. It's a learning curve...

I should mention that the first time I yanked my assemblies out, it took me about 4 hours. LOL

I've had mine out, at least, 10 times so, I can just about do it in my sleep now.

You'll get the hang of it.
