Buffers

Ok. I'm getting an orbital buffer for Christmas. And I've never used one before. I need to buff a few fine scratches I have on my cab. What is the best rubbing compound to use? And can you use a buffer to take off wax? Or is that to be done by hand? Thanks.

Meguiar's #9 would be good for light scratches and swirls.

3m's SMR is a little more agressive but it puts down a lot of oil on the paint that smears around. It'll come off if your waxing with a carnauba. If your using a synthetic, then you'll have to Dawn wash it after using this stuff.

Meguiar's Dual-Action Cleaner/Polish is more agressive than the above two. Need to follow this with Meguiar's #9 though.
