'eh boys who has a block heater

figured the title would keep the southerners out of the thread

I got my truck used. With the recent cold snap I started poking around for my block heater. Did the 2004-2008 not come with them? I cant find one. I know lots of BMW's dont anymore.

^^ thanks, I just went out and checked. I assume you are talking about the small air intake in the lower bumper? if so nothing there.

Does anyone know if CAD spec trucks came with block heaters standard?

pretty sure its standard. I had to dig inside my bumper to find the chord it was tucked away from summer driving. Im not sure where on the block it is so you can trace but it should have one if its made in Canada.

Look on the block itself, maybe someone forgot to unplug it, drove off and riped the cord out :O

Yepperooni.

This one and my last one came equipped standard.

I also run an oilpan heater and a small one on the tranny pan if needed depending where the truck is parked and expected conditions.

Thanks guys. Guess I am going to have to throw my cover-alls on and take a look. I poked around the best I could but will really have to go digging.

I figured it was there, but I didnt want to spend an hour, and deep down worry that there wasn't a cord there at all.

My 2010 also includes a battery blanket as well (FX-4). Friends Platinum 09 does not have a blanket; block heater only.

Hi.

Y'all might want to consider one of these instead of a blanket:

http://www.batterychargers.com/Produ...Name=94026501A

Keeps the battery charged and warmed while doing it, instead of just warmed.

These work great - got 'em in everything.

Mine came from the factory this way. Both are connected to a single plug in the front.

Canadian Tire has one that is similar. It also allows you to trickle charge via the 12 Volt outlets.

It has not been that cold here where I have had to use it ... maybe later this month. I do have a timer connected to the AC cord to run it for about 2 hours in the morning before I go off to work. Was the same set up for my last two vehicles.

-24 last night. Plugged truck in last night and started it up this morning. Fired up real fast and heat started to defrost the windshield in a few minutes!

Well worth it ...

Used mine 2 mornings last week, on a timer. After about 4 hours I started the truck. Air temp was about -28C. Scanguage showed water temp at 67 and 73F at startup. I was happy. OP, Plug can be found inside bumper near license plate.
