Thinking of moving to Alberta
I was wondering if anyboby from Alberta can tell me of some nice places to move, I was looking at the Lethbridge area? I currently live in PEI, but I am from Nova Scotia. I would like a smaller place with little crime.
What do you do in PEI and what are you looking to do out here?
Lethbridge is nice, it is windy though
I have always liked Red Deer area
Medicine Hat is nice
Camrose was a nice town
The south is warmer in winter if you work outside lots.
Calgary and Edmonton are too busy for my tastes but lots of people live there.

It depends on how small you want to go. I, personally, can't stand any smaller than Edmonton.
Lethbridge is nice. My brother and I moved my Mom back there a few years ago. Calgary was just too expensive for her and she was born and raised there. It is windy but it is a clean smaller sized city. I could see myself retiring to Lethbridge or around there when the time comes.
Not a fan of Red Deer. My grandmother lived there. She moved back to Calgary. The city transit service is lacking. There a lot of smaller towns around Red Deer with nice golf courses and that small town feel that would be worth looking into.
I lived in Red Cliff for a few years as a kid and have been back to the area a few times since. It is just 3 miles outside of Medicine Hat. I could not picture me moving back to that area.
If Calgary wasn't over the million people mark I would recomend it. It used to be a very nice city and it location is fantastic. I can be in the Kananaskis riding my quad in 30 minutes. Baniff and Canmore and the mountains are 45 minutes away if you like to hike and mountain bike. A small town around Calgary may be what your after too.

I grew up in small town central Alberta, went to college in Edmonton, lived in Red Deer for 8 years and now live in Airdrie, work in Calgary and my work takes me to almost every town in the province so I can tell you a bit about everywhere....
Lethbridge is nice but make sure you can find work down there as the economy hasn't been as booming as most other area's in AB. Red Deer is still my favorite place to live, lots to do, lots of lakes nearby, beaches, shopping, car shows etc. If you need the big city it is only a short commute to either Edmonton or Calgary. The mountains are still only a short drive if you are into outdoors stuff. Airdrie or Okotoks are nice if you prefer the Calgary area.
House prices are gonna be high in almost every larger city, Lethbridge is probably the lowest and Fort Mac the highest. Red Deer is slightly lower than Calgary but similar to Edmonton. Any smaller city in the Edmonton-Red Deer-Calgary corridor would be my recommendation.
Fort Mac or Grande Prairie are likely to get you a higher rate of pay but the cost of living is also alot higher.
