Grinding/Vibration Noise

I have a 1998 f150 xl, 4.2 cid, 5 speed manual 4X4. the problem is a grinding / vibration noise seemingly from the rear of the vehicle when braking. All the rear brakes are new including wheel cylinders, drums, shoes. emrg cables are free and lubed, the auto adjusters are all cleaned and working. brakes seem to be working fine but for the noise. Front pads are new as well. please help
ps
speedy gave me a quote saying it was all of the above so I went out and replaced everything they mentioned, also on a whim i tried it in 4X4 high, it seems to struggle and surge however the noise is the same on braking

OK, the thread's moved. It didn't sound line the OP used any "aftermarket" parts, so this is where I thought it belonged.
