junkman,

The only advice I can give you is to go for the stainless. Every plastic toolbox I've owned (2) would get hot and warp out letting the tool tray fall out. Also, if you get much weight in them they stretch out and lose their shape. It may just be the weight of the tools I used to carry, but the plastic always made me mad.

I have owned many metal tool boxes over the years and have never had this problem.

Good luck, Rich.

Stay away from plastic toolboxes they do not hold their shape. The end will wind up warped and it will leak besides looking like crap. I have a stainless now (black powdercoat), and it looks and works great. I had to learn the hard way on the plastic kind on an earlier truck. Good Luck!

I would stay away from the plastic. Like everyone says, I have never seen one that didn't warp in a couple of years.
If your gonna be using yours to work out of and need a good strong dependable box, you might want to try Weather Guard. Good strong box. Latches well, has never leaked in 3 years, and still looks as good as the day I bought it. Been through 2 trucks with this box. Check out the pics in my sig and you can see the box.

funny one there Raoul as everyone else has said, I would stay away from plastic. I have a diamond plate box by Delta, and it is great. You can't go wrong with stainless.

I have a Delta and like it a lot. There are many brands out there. To name a few; Dee Zee, Craftsman, Delta, UWS. Delta seems to be pretty popular. Mainly because they arent that expensive. If I were to buy one again I would get a "Deep" one. You think a the normal sized tool boxes will fit anything and they do fit a lot but "crap" seems to pile up in there over time.

Get a Delta they may cost a little more than other brands but they hold up.

I thought those diamond plate ones were aluminum. I have a Delta on the way, found it on EBay, for a pretty good price.

I would add that you get one that opens on each end (gullwing). They are easier to get item in and out of from outside your bed.
