Question Which Tonneau Cover

Just bought my truck a week ago and I hear that a lot of people pick up on gas mileage with a tonneau cover. Which one do you guys recommend and what is the price range? I don't wanna go for a hard cover b/c I'm gonna be putting dirtbikes back there and slicks for my race car. Thanks.

If you would do a search, you'd be able to develope your own opinion on this. It's been covered many, many times.

One piece of advice don't even consider the peragon cover it is not worth your time. The thing leaks like a sieve and the company behind it doesn't stand behind their product. Their customer service is lousy and the warranty is the worst I have ever seen. Please learn from my mistake and don't buy the peragon bed cover.

You might consider these guys, too bluebeagle:

They have an excellent product and a good warranty. Their closure mechanism is also unique and seems quite well thought-out.

stwater,

if ease is what you want take a look at the access roll-up cover. i have to haul large loads fairly often. it is very easy for me to roll this cover by myself. the bows roll up with the cover. velcro sides that are holding well. i had a little water get in during a torrential downpour. normal rain, everything is dry. good luck, rich.

I have had four Tonneau covers on four different trucks and each one has been mad by SportMaster I have been very happy each and everytime they fit great they go on easy and kepp the bed water tight. they clamp on so there are no holes in the bed and they roll up so easy so that you can actually use your bed I love the hard tops but like you I use my bed way too much to much for a hard top. The really nice thing about haveing any knid of a bed cover is that if you have a sliding rear window you can use it and not had all the dirt and crap from your bed come flying inside your cab. I get a deal from the topper place down the street form my work seeing as how I ma in the car biz. She sells me the Tonneau covers for $179.00 no matter what size or what truck. I think that she retails them for something like $219 IMO they are awesome and have been very happy. Best of luck, Paul

Cool

I have a Ford cover and it's good, no snaps to mess with in cold weather. The only recommendation I would make is don't get one with snaps, they are a bear in cold weather.

Thanks for your opinions, I went to ford and got a snapless one straight from Ford. They installed it and it looks great. Now the only problem is, HOW DO I OPEN IT NOW! I feel like an idiot, I can't get the tonneau cover to roll back. What am I doin wrong? Thanks, and STOP LAUGHING AT ME .

I vote for Sportmaster, three so far and they hold up in the cold and heat. No water leaks, easy to roll up and a good warranty.

Talking

Open the tail gate and pull the two taps on the cover. The tongue and groove will begin to separate, then roll it up. The three bows can be stowed in the slots provided in the rails up by the cap.

BTW, it’s best to separate the entire (back & both sides) tongue and groove before rolling.

I just spoke with my local Ford dealer and was told that in order to use the Ford snapless tonneau cover, you must remove the bed caps. This is not an option for me, as I think the bed caps are valuable. The price from Ford was $342.

Can someone with this cover verify this? Also, is the price I've been quoted in line with what others have paid?

Thsnks
