This is a great mod, nice write up!

A question I got recently was can you open the lid of the box when it is in the closed position against the side of the truck?

You can open the lid most of the way with the box against the bed side. If you have the tailgate closed, you can still access the box. It is kind of awkward to reach anything from there though, especially due to how tall the bed sides and tailgate are. Its best to just pull the release handle and swing it out to you. Then it is REALLY easy to grab what you need.

El Chupo, see pics and answers below. Thx

The swingcase extends into the box area and beyond the wheelwell approximately 1.25 inches, and sits above the bed 3.00 inches. So you could carry maybe a few 4'x8' sheets as they would slide below the swingcase. However, the swingcase merely sits on top of the hinges (see pic 3), and can be simply lifted off and removed (without tools or removing the bracket) if you need more space.

Thanks PirateSignal! I had one in my Tacoma, and know how convenient they are - but that truck only had 44" between wheel wells (which sucked), and the swing case stuck out about 3-4" past the wheel well. To the point I had trouble more than a few times.

I appreciate the pics and info!

Happy holiday!
