I don't know the answer to your question, but you might also just call Undercover and discuss the issue with them. It may or may not help you, but a phone call is easy and it's toll free: 866-900-8800

Well, the pictures of the end of the cap towards the cab really show a lack of detail to extend to the leading edges of the bed rails. That gap really concerns me and detracts from what seems like a great product. I'm generally disappointed since I wanted a lightweight bed cover that I could take off the truck on my own and hang on my large garage wall. It would have been nice to Undercover to revamp the mold and ensure the cosmetic finish of the cover would have extended to the leading edge of the rails facing the cab. Guess I'll keep looking.

I don't think the classic is like that Pr4mncplus.. I may just go with the classic myself.

@ TruckGasm- I don't know if you are talking to me but I thank you again for the help. It is tough to get a phone here and nothing is toll free... I rely on internet and from folks back home to get an idea of things to purchase in the future when I return home.
Again thank you
Nate

So what are prices like on the undercover products

What's a ballpark price for a painted SE for 5.5 bed? Nobody is mentioning prices.

Also I notice in the pics Skierman posted the sides hang off a bit and in the pics others have posted of the undercover product the sides don't hang over so far and fit closer.

PS. I just looked at the pics on site again. There seems to be a wide range of fits. Some fit close to the sides and others do seem to drape over and have a little bit of an overhang.

.From the pics I have seen the classic fits closer to the bed caps rather than the SE.

We got a classic last week but the wife is going to get the bed sprayed in before she gets it put on. I'll tell her to send me some pictures once it is all finished.

As for prices, I got mine from a gentleman on CL. He wanted 450 for the 1 year old classic. After talking to him and his wife for quiet some time he ended up just giving me the bed cover and told us to spend the money on what ever we wanted just don't use it for bills! I couldn't believe it and my wife tried to give them the money but they just wouldn't accept it. He stated that this is a gift form one military member to another...

I'm trying to find him them a really nice gift here is South Korea to send to them...

I'm seeing roughly $660-$700 for the cover and some have mentioned $200-$300 for paint. Correct me if these aren't in the ballpark, please.

Sometime this fall, the Classic will be available from Undercover already painted.

Nice. You know the price-point on these painted bad mamma jammas?

I just priced an A.R.E. LSX for $1,100 installed and $150 for the ultra upgrade...matching paint included.

I like the ease of removal for the Undercover..hoping a few bills less to make the choice easier.

I know your the man and know your stuff and I take your word for it I just hope its true b/c I like it better than the Smooth SE but I want to paint it. Its funny b/c I emailed them over the weekend and they responded today with the Classic will not come paintable like the Smooth SE but with its rough texture its paintable now just that it will involve more work for the paintshop

I can't remember if I received something by mail or email about it. I know that Undercover is calling a factory painted SE the "LUX". Seems like I read something about the classic also, but maybe I'm incorrect.
