Question Line-X around tailgate step/handle cover

Has anyone who Line-X'd their truck, had them spray around the front and/or side edges of the black tailgate cover? I'm not going to take the cover off, but some shops here do nothing to this kind of tailgate and others will spray the edge next to the bed (to protect the paint when it's open).

What parts have you had sprayed with this type of cover? Thanks.

I posted a very similar thread to this in the 2009-2011 forum about a month ago so you might wanna go look that up. Got some pretty good advice from other people. I ended up asking my Line-X to take the whole cover off and spray it and then put the cover back on. I like it. There are some shops that will just do around the edges for you also. There are pics of mine in the aforementioned thread and in my album.

I used to work for a shop and I was the guy who did all the LineX but this was back in 99 and I worked there for almost 2 years. I am not familiar with the 2010 f150 so I don't really know what you are asking. Really the only option our shop had was whether you wanted it sprayed over the rail or not. With over the rail, it would continue to the top of the tailgate. Since Fords have the plastic on the rails and top of tailgate, we sprayed up to the plastic. I don't know if this helped you. Also keep in mind the LineX is about a 1/4" thick so you have to be carefull if you spray in the jambs of the tailgate because you don't want any rubbing.
