Some people care about fading, some people don't. The good news is that you can get it either way (at least with LINE-X).

Just curious, how do you prevent the liner from splitting or bubbling where the plastic fender flares meet the metal body? I know that if you just apply a little pressure to the flares, they tend to move.

That's a very good question!

Ordinarily, we remove plastic fender flares and totally encapsulate them with LINE-X and then reinstall them on the truck. However, we could not remove a couple of the flares on the Tacoma because of the way it was repaired. So, in order for all four flares to look the same, we had to just leave them on there and spray away. The bedliner is very strong and has over a 100% elongation factor. So, the flare can move and the LINE-X can move along with it.

This truck is totally sprayed with LINE-X. This flare was removed, totally encapsulated with LINE-X, and reinstalled.

True, he has a coke can spray with it that is empty and dude, you cannot crush that can! If your plastic parts moved before, they probably won’t after its sprayed. That’s some tough stuff!

David, what would it cost me to have you spray the rest of my truck in Line-X with color match Xtra? I would want my bumpers done too. I have the 2008 Reg Cab in Dark Blue Pearl coat. You shot a black Xtra liner in it a month or so ago. My paint code is DX. Also, would you be able to metal tape over the holes from the badges if I chose to remove them? They are about 5/8” wide.

The truck.

Very, very, very, interested in this. I've had my bed and aftermarket bumper done. I'm thinking of getting the rocker panels and flares done soon.

Probably won't pull the trigger until I see an 04-10 F150 done in it.

I saw a Hummer (H3??) sprayed w/black bedliner and it looked sweet. I could see the yellow in the door cracks - that's how it stood out to me-
I was p1ssed because I didn't have my camera with me, but I would do it if the conditions were right. (such as rolled my truck or other paint issues)
It does look cool though

The look is too utilitaran for my tastes so I wouldn't want to do it over a perfectly good paint job. If the paint is trashed and I did a lot of boondocking (which I don't), that would be a whole 'nuther story. I have to wonder what it would do to resale value.

Just saw a truck tonight here in Houston that had that done. It was definitely "different" -- but I could see myself doing this on a true work truck....

My old '77 150 4x4 that has just 102K on it, the one I have new doors, tailgate, and bedsides for .... that grey would look pretty good on with the red interior and new black D spoke steelies on it!
