bedliners factory vs. aftermarket

I am looking to get a drop-in bedliner for my bed. Sorry but I prefer the drop-ins! I have an 04 F150 6.5Ft bed.
Ford offers a liner factory for about $250, I'm not sure if its skid resistant.
Penda has a skid resistant liner for about $200.

Just kinda looking for opinions or recommendations

I would like the skid resistant so stuff won't slid but not sure how bad stuff slides with Ford liners.

Any comments would help! Thanks!

Ford does not make drop-in bedliners.

Most of the "factory" bedliners are made by Durakon, they also make Allstar and Duraliner.

The only thing special you'll get from Ford is an overpriced plastic bedliner.

I've had the "Ford" drop in bedliner in my last two F150s. They are very durable, and for $250.00 (my opinion) they seem to be competitively priced. I personally like them, but they ARE a little slippery. The Ford-provided bedliner has a moulded in Ford logo on it, so (again, in my opinion) it looks more like it belongs there.

The Ford bedliner is a Duraliner. Take a look at a Pendaliner SR if want less slippery.

Since you're set on a drop-in liner at least do yourself a favor and check underneath it every few months. Numerous members (myself included) with drop-ins have reported them rubbing down to the bare metal. Good recipe for bed rust. If you notice any paint rubbing be sure to touch it up.

There's 3 in this thread alone that have had problems with paint wear underneath. I'm sure more will chime in if they come across this. My truck only had 30K on it when I pulled out the liner and it already had about the same amount of wear as the first pic.

I know you said you're set on a liner, but we're just trying to save you some trouble. If nothing else definitely buy a mat to put under the liner.

After some time:

holy CRAP! i would take that out dude, i cant stand rust. i took mine out after i bought it. it had 115k on it then, it has some nice spots but nothing like that.

my only problem now is the toolbox i have goes all the way across the bed and a BUNCH of leaves get caught in there.

I have got the ford drop in bedliner in my 05 and it fits nice and snug. When I put it in i pop riveted it down in certain places so it wasn't goin to be sliding around and wearing the paint off. Even if it does wear the paint a little, it is still better than having no liner and scraping and scratching the paint off when loading/unloading crap from the bed.

That's a good idea!

It is but that wasn't the point. Yes it's better than a bare bed but we were trying to lean him towards another bed protector (Line-X, BedRug, etc).
