Drop-in bedliner.

I've decided to go with a drop-in bedliner even though I've been told that it can accumulate dirt and cause rust underneath, but hey, I figured that as long as I unscrew it and clean it periodically then I guess I wont have a problem. What I would like to know is; are there better drop-in's other then the factory bedliner that you guy's would recomend? Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a factory one, but Ford puts their name on the Duraliner and is sold at many dealerships. I have that one and like it. The only thing I don't like is that it is slippery at times. Sometimes you want it to be slipepry to put in and remove cargo, other times you want things to stay put. But it is thick, tough, and durable. A friend of mine recently got a new truck and a Pendaliner SR (Skid Resistant). He likes it too and I have seen it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it is thinner than mine.

I got the duraliner and I hate how stuff slides around.

I just ordered some Bed Bugs to hold stuff in place. I hope they work.

I dont see what all the talk is about rusting under the bed liner the truck comes with an exceptional corrosion warrenty and would be covered if rust should appear. Secondly how many of us are really going to remove the liner every few months just to check for rust???
Ford sells the liners and they dont seem to have anything to say about rust. If the trucks were coming back to the dealer with problems from a liner Im sure Ford would have thought of a better way to protect the bed.
I dont have a liner in my truck yet but one is on order and coming in this week and I have no worries about rust, besides its only a 4 year lease then I get a new truck

Well this sucks, my local Ford dealer wont order me a duraliner brand bedliner because they can only order those in bulks of ten. My only available option right now is to order that "universal" bed liner from them, is there any difference in quality or looks to the one from duraliner other then the nice looking Ford logo?

Suggestion - Go for the Ford. Duraliner = $279. Ford (better) $250. And.. it is covered by the ford warrenty (if this applies to your truck.)

I have one. awesome.

I've got the dealer-installed bed liner in my '01, and I think its great. If I had a spray-on liner...with the stuff I throw into the bed, the sheet metal would be dented and look like crap. Sure things slide around, but that's what bungee chords are for, plus I bought one of those twisto/expando bars from Harbour Freight to hold back the heavy stuff. When the day comes that I sell my truck, I'll bet that nobody is going to lift the bedliner out to see what kind of rust, if any, is under it.

Where did you get the bed bugs?? URL??

I had a spray in on my 2003...first one...DID not like it...hard to slide boxes in...etc...hard to move stuf around...I will say..they dont slip...but hey.. In my new 2005 I got a drop in...If you remain aware of the slide potiential..It is easier in my opinion on one man loading.....Glad to see the spray in go...

I have the Ford bedliner and like it. I also have a large rubber mat that I put towards the back. Keeps things from sliding around and I can move it if need be. Best of both worlds.

Just put some sort of thin foam pad between the Drop-In Liner and the bed before you put it in (like that foam pad they put down before they lay hardwood flooring in homes) That way you wont have to worry about it scratchin the paint, and eventually causing rust spots.

No - it holds water without leaking. My driveway is on a hill, so before I got my tonneau cover I could tell how much it rained the night before by how much water was standing in my bed.

Thanks so much...What type of tonneau cover do you have? I've been looking at this:

but haven't made a decision yet.

Thanks again.

I have an Extang roll up cover. I liked it well enough on my F150 to buy it again for my wife's Nissan. It's a soft cover with support bars to keep it from sagging and industrial strength velcro to keep the sides in place. There's a lof of personal preference and planned usage considerations you have to go through when picking a cover. But I rate it
