Bedrug versus spray on?

Was wondering if the bedrug is as good as they say? I normally put my muddy 4 wheeler in the back when I don't want to haul my trailer. Does the bedrug clean up a easy as they say or should I go with a spray on?

For something that heavy duty n dirty just go spray on. The bed rug is awesome but no one can deny a spray on is much more industructable, n it only costs bout 400 bucks..

spray on....you can hose anything out of it when it gets dirty, lasts a lot longer, and its grippy too so anything you throw in the back wont slide around as much. Oh and it also protects your side walls from damage where the carpet only gets the bottom. my 2 cent since ive been through 3 trucks and 3 spray in's!

I sell both!

Because of the 4-wheeler, a spray-on is what I recommend.

TruckGasm - under what conditions would you recommend the BedRug? I haul lumber and tools by day and music gear (speakers, road cases) on weekends. I previously had a '97 F150 with a hard tonneau and a drop in liner. For my new truck, I'm inclined toward the BedRug.

I have a bedrug and I've had my quad in there once. It cleaned up good but honestly if I was going to haul the quad all the time back there then I probably would have gone with the spray in.

The rug covers the entire bed including the sides

I believe he was reffering to the BedRug sides being softer and not as thick as the floor and would allow damage to happen easier.

Just like TruckGasm I sell both and will say that it would really be a matter of personal prefference. The BedRug will work fine hauling the quad. I will ask you the same thing I ask my customer here, how often do you actually put the quad in the bed and not on the trailer to haul, I would imagine it's not more than once or twice a month. Now the question is what do you want to have in the bed 95-99% of the time your using the truck.

I would say spray on too because it would be easier to clean up than the bedrug, but you did mention you hauling the 4 wheeler in a trailer. Maybe the bedrug would be fine if you only haul it in the bed occasionally.

The thing to remember is the bedrug is easy to clean if you vacuum it up right away. It's much the same as going hunting and jumping in the truck with muddy boots. It's not a problem if you vacuum it up tomorrow.

I think Bedrug is a good product for what it its. It's good for light to moderate duty. I would avoid loading a cargo that can tear carpet knap. While most liquids will wash out (because the knap is closed cell polypropylene), the knap can stain. I've seen multiple stained Bedrugs. Typically, gasoline will severely damage polypropylene. However, gas will wash out of the Bedrug and Bedrug advertises that gas won't hurt it, but I'm not sure what would happen if gas was in there long term.

bed rug comes with a lifetime warranty, so if it starts getting trashed under normal use/conditions send it back

Ive got a linex in my red truck and dont mind it, but i wouldnt have chosen to do it if i had the truck from day 1

Not exactly right. It's guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. You mess it up, they will not replace it.

Actually they will replace it if it stains. I had a customer stain one by leaving off-road diesel that spilled in it and I called and they just said send it in. The thing is all warranty claims are done directly with BedRug and not with the selling dealer. You have to box it up the same way it was boxed originally, that is with the backing to the inside of the roll, if you don't box it this way when you send it back it will void the warranty. Also you have to pay the shipping to BedRug, and they pay the shipping back to you.
