Okay so there a many bed covers out there and I think I know which style I like.. I do not want to get the fiberglass style nor pay to have it match my tri-coat paint.
I would like to know if anyone can recommend a place where I can find a similar style to the one I like but less expensive.
This is what I am looking for
there is an install guide that gives details)

Let me say that there is Armor Lid, Undercover, and I believe Penda has one also. Undercover is the better one although it's more expensive. Save your coins and get an Undercover.
Armor Lid is imported from China. It does not fit the truck as well as Undercover. There is a current post on a Tundra forum reporting that his friend's Armor Lid has faded and the locks are rusted. Undercover is made in the USA and I've never seen rusted locks on an Undercover nor have I seen a faded one.

That FoldACover looks very interesting. http://www.truckaccessorizer.com/sto...a_cover_g4.htm
I am in the same market and was leaning toward the BackFlip HD which is a little more expensive but I don't know if it is worth it. http://www.bakfliptonneaucover.com/bakflip_hd

I sent you a PM. Many of us (search the 09 forum) are happy with our Bakflip HD covers. They might cost slightly more than the FoldaCover (FAC), but I like that it looks good since it sits flush with the bed rails (unlike the FAC), folds up completely and rests against the rear window giving 99% complete access to the bed (unlike the FAC), and it does not have any exposed keyholes or latches (unlike the FAC) that you have to worry about freezing in winter or theives trying to break open. The only main FAC advantage I see is that the front or rear cover panels open independently and without having to open the tailgate first. The HD cover you have to open the tailgate first in order to release the latch on the underside of the cover.
I've had the one-piece covers, a RollnLock rolling cover, and a Advance folding cover in the past. So far, I really like the HD cover the best.

thanks Steve for the email..... I think I like the FoldACover G4 Elite more because the panel closest to the back glass can be opened. Here is what I am thinking. I do plan on using my truck for family trips more often so if I have an ice chest back there, I can open the sliding window and my son should be able to reach back there and open the panel, grab me a drink and close it. This way I do not have that big ice chest in the back seat taking up all the room.
After much research on this forum and by talking to some people with different covers, I recently purchased the Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite and love it! I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it is exactly what I wanted. The ability to access the front part of the bed independently from the back was one of the main reasons I went with this cover. As noted, it does sit on top of the bed rails, but is pretty thin (~1") so it's not really bulky in any way. And we've had a bunch of rain here lately, some pretty hard rain too from hurricane Bill's remnants etc., and the bed has remained dry. I am quite happy with my purchase and all of the advice given here.
Hey b125, will I be able to do what I want with the cover as I am driving down the road? I am wondering if I need to use to the key to unlock it every single time I want to open it from either end. Does it only have one lock located by the tailgate?

Hey PZX - sorry, I haven't been on in a couple of days.
As far as doing what you want (cooler access), the front latch is offset to the driver's side a bit (I will check how much) so you may be able to do this - depending on how long your son's arms are.
Mine is a 5.5' cover and has four panels on it so my references are to this. Don't know if 6.5' or 8' covers are different. You can open either end separately, as there are latches on both ends of the cover, front and rear. Each latch has a separate lock that you can leave locked or unlocked - so you don't have to use they key to open the panel. Leave it unlocked and it's ready to open at any time. Lock it and it's secure. You need to lock your tailgate too so that the tailgate cannot be opened, if that's your goal. The front panel (at cab) only folds back to allow access to the front of the bed. The rear panels open as such: rear-most panel folds towards cab, then will fold "accordion style" with the middle two panels to rest on the front panel at the cab. There are smalls straps to secure it in this position so that it doesn't move around when you're driving.
Hope this helps! Any other questions just let me know.

Keep in mind that people sell their truck and put there cover up on Craig's list all the time. I've seen many UnderCovers listed there at great prices.
thanks b125 for the feedback, on this no need to apologize I know we are all busy. So far I am liking what I am hearing about this cover. My son's arm is as long as mine and I can almost reach the side of the bed if I extend my arm out without sticking my head out the window. Judging by the illustrations on the web I think it will work for me, plus it is black and it should go well with my truck. (No need to paint it)
Hey green thanks for the advice about craiging but most of those lids are not the style I am looking for.
I think the air dynamics going over the cover may not be a problem since the cover is against the back window and the air flow would be about 15 inches away from the window before it touches the bed cover. I might get away with doing what I want.
This past Friday we went for a drive in the pickup truck to get some frozen yogurt. The kiddos enjoy eating their yogurt outside on the bed of the truck. My wife asked how a regular tonneau cover would work in this situation and how the fold a cover would work in this same scenario. I explained both covers to her and she liked the idea of the fold a cover folding up so the kids can still enjoy the bed of the truck the same way they do now. The tonneau cover just being lifted from the end of the bed does not give the kids the head room they need.
I have decided on getting the Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite thanks everyone. Now I need to shop around for the best price.. =)
