You are a lucky dog.
Do you have any idea how rare that cap is?

and at that price? You make me sick.
Get a little sicker when I tell you I had to drive 3 whole miles to pick it up (and I live in a relatively rural area) and I talked the guy down $50.

I wasn't really looking for a shell, but I just couldn't pass it up. It's a Snug Top w/ carpet lining and is real stout (not like the Brahma I had on my old Ranger which I'm sure a strong wind could have destroyed). I only put it on the truck when I head up to the desert, the rest of the time it hangs in my carport.

BTW Raoul, you're the guy who informed me (and anyone else who read that particular post) the back of the cab is different between extended cabs and reg cabs, thus prompting me to jump on this reg cab shell when I saw it for sale. Thanks!

ARE "Z" series for 01 Supercrew

Does any one have a ARE "Z" series top? I broke the rear lift glass and need to build a new one myself. The local dealer wants $500 for a new one. I can get the lexan for $50.

If you have this top, can you send me the measurements for the upper and lower. ARE gave me measurements ,but they are for the full size wider F-150 bed.

Thanks,
Bill C.

My ARE topper

I bought this back in 2004. I just went by the local ARE dealer and they were of no help as usual.

When searching on Ebay or craigslist, do a search for "F150 topper" as this is what their referred to in some areas.
Another place to look for caps is at used car dealers. A lot of them take the caps off supposedly to make the truck more sellable. That's where I got myine from although they had it listed on Ebay. It's an ARE Z series. Paid $350 and had it painted for $300 (dark highland green to white). I gutted all the windows before painting. New roll of seal for side windows was $10. Figured I was about $700 ahead of the game. Added a Bedrug to finish off the look. Use it mostly when we go camping. Although the Z series is an awesome looking cap, I still like the way it looks with the Tonneau cover sometimes.

Thanks for the tip. I can get the Lexan for $50 and have used acetone to remove the liquid nails/adhesive. We will see!
