Keep my bedliner or ditch it.

Well my bedliner in my truck has been used and it has crackes up front by the cab and now i am seriously worried about water and what not corrodind the bed. Shoud i ditch my plastic liner and just use nothing i do use a shovel in there and go at it hard. my truck bed is just that a bed that is used like a work horse i do not say sorry to it. I will in the future be getting a spray in just not for a while it is a good 6 months away if i am budgeting right. Should i take the liner out. ps truck has 108 thousand and to my knowledge it has been in there since day 1.

well..when i got my truck the first thing i got rid of was the plastic bedliner..the reason being i have 2 tool boxes and that plastic is so slick that when i gas/brake it would slide into the tailgate or the front of the bed and i didnt want that...but i dont haul stuff in mine..i do have a 1" thick rubber mat back there so it doesnt slide but bedliners to me are tacky..but if your using it for im guessing dirt work of some kind to where your using a shovel then yea i would leave it in just so its saves your bed and wont scratch as bad...i mean whats another 6 months? lol and as far as your corroding...i wouldnt worry about that BUILT FORD TOUGH BABY

i just took mine out a couple of weeks ago. it was warping by the wheel well and it came out from underneath the plastic bed cap.

Ill tell u this much. I usually only hauled grass clippings and there was a lot of dirt and grass under that thing! It couldn't have been good for the metal.

I say F-it. take it out,,,scratch the hell out of it. it will still last longer than your motor if you have 100K on it.

PS I would think that a spray in liner would be a pain to shovel dirt and stuff out off. They are too tacky. Let me know if i'm wrong.

I would say.. pull it out, lay rubber liner in ( such as roofing rubber liner ) and re-install the plastic liner. That way, water cannot damage it that badly, and you can still go hard at the bed.

I say use some silicon until you can get the spay-in. its cheap and your bed still protected.
