Line-X of Austin

I heard a rumor that the guys at the Austin location may be looking to sell
their franchise. They spray about 80-100 trucks a month. I know they have a Toyota dealer that sprays all their trucks. They are full time firefighters and
dont want to spend all their time at work. Any idea what it might be worth?

Damn, they must be lookin' to retire... LOL

Those guys did my bed, perfectly, and I recommend them to everyone who asks about Line X...

Say 80 a month @ ~$500 or so.. (figure $400 for basic app.,$600+ for Xtra colormatch), so approx. $45k a month or so.

So like $540,000 a year.

Split that between 2 owners and say 4 employees (just for salary purposes), the freakin' stoopid taxes there must be there in the middle of Research Blvd., insurance, etc., etc....

I could see it not being any way to get rich... I'd love to do it myself, love to buy that shop if it's true... oh, and if I had the $$ to do it!!

I actually hope they're not selling since I'd have to see the work the new guys do before saying Line-X Of Austin rocks the way they do now... LOL

Times are not good for truck accessory businesses. Dealer truck sales are way down and the high price of gas is also limiting disposable income. I'm sure any bedliner/truck accessory store would be happy to sell their business to you.

I'm going to ramble on for a minute: The bedliner market has shrunk and so will the number of bedliner dealers of all brands. However, if you are not a LINE-X or Rhino dealer, who combined have 50% of the bedliner market, you're especially looking at hard times. I even think that some of the smaller bedliner companies won't even make it. I also believe that after the price of gas stabilizes (for a period of about 3 to 6 months), the market will rebound to a certain degree, but may never again be what it was. Southern States like Texas and Oklahoma are "truck country" and may still have a viable market. But, to the north and northeast, it's going to be really tough.

They definately want to sell, and sales are down. They said that they are burned out due to two full time jobs. They dont sell truck accessories, I wonder if the new owner added truck accessories, and could buy this franchise at a lower price might ride out the down times? If someone had some money, this might be a good buy.

Dang Patman, did I miss you shakin' the dust of Waco off your boots?!.. LOL

I recall you saying ya'll were heading this way, didn't know you'd done it.

I don't know where they're getting it done, must not be Line X Of Austin, , but almost every new Silverado and Tundra I see lately seems to have been Line X'd.. very few with colormatch, but a lot have that Xtra shine to 'em. Oddly, I don't see many F150's Line X'd..

I agree with TruckGasm, the market for any sort of add-ons to trucks is not looking good. Hard to justify even a couple hundred $ for this stuff when groceries and gas and everything else is getting crazy.

That all said, I think there will always be a market, smaller, but still there, for a quality product like Line X.. I'd almost say that cutting a deal with local dealerships may be the only way to go now.

I hope the local guys here can ride it out.

I found out that the building they are in is being sold, and they dont want to relocate. It is for sale at a extremely discounted price, but I dont know how much. If someone had an existing business or location to spray in this could be a very good opportunity.
