Line-x or bedcover?

I know this is partially the right section, but, Im either gonna get my bed line-x xtra or get a leer bedcover. Is there a point in going with both of them or just one or the other?

Well, they are two totally different things. You could get one or the other or both.

The tonneau cover is used to shelter the bed from rain, dirt, etc., plus some people just like the way they look on trucks. Some covers may even give you better gas mileage but that's sort of debatable.

LINE-X provides a tough, skid resistant, impact resistant, scratch and dent resistant, chemical and rust resistant protective coating the bed's surface. Some people just like the way it looks (especially LINE-X with Xtra, including color matches).

Both are great to have. The Line X is great for protecting your bed of course and the cover will keep things dry if you need to haul stuff around. Just up to you and what you do with your truck. I would strongly suggest the Line X either way though! Awesome stuff!

I just dont know if I need line-x if i get a cover. I already have a bedliner, and I want the tonneau for looks and to keep my stuff secure. Seems like the only reason to get line x is if your hauling a lot around. I would just keep my golf clubs and some tools in my bed once I get the cover. Seems like the line x would be a waste considering I dont haul much around.

If your not going to be hauling alot of things that could damage the bed of your truck I would recomend just getting the cover. And then later on down the road if you feel the need to get the line-x I would recomend just gettting the regular. The cover will protect it from the sun so fadeing wont be an issue, plus it will be cheaper.

Have you looked enough into the Line X option to find a place in town (the greater Memphis area) that would apply the Line X?

Hmmm....

#1 There's currently no LINE-X dealer in Houston.
#2 Under ordinary conditions, you're not going to find LINE-X at $245.

Yea, that makes more sense.

He's the guy off 249 that had his LINE-X franchise taken away for violating the franchise agreement. Well, the price was right, but you may want to take action to prevent it from fading.

Just out of curiosity how do you keep LINE-X from fading? My dad has it in his truck without the extra. So I would like to see what we can do to make his look more like mine again.

Option #1: Clean the liner with automotive soap and water, give it a scrub with a stiff brush. Let it dry. Apply an "Armoral" type product. Armoral is a little greasy so we prefer Just Once (justonce.com) or 303 Aerospace. Apply Just Once a few times a year.

Option #2: Go back to the LINE-X dealer and get LINE-X ReNew. The ReNew process includes the use of Xtra. So, it's a one time application and will be maintenance free.

This was on Mith Busters some time back!!

MITH BUSTED...
The two trucks they tested, Both F-150 SCREWS
They ran out of Gas at about the same time...
One had a bed cover the other didn't.

Had a bed cover on my old truck looked good but at the time I didn't use my truck as one so I didn't need a liner of any kind!

This Truck I USE as one And have Line-X Love it!!

have you looked at a bedrug? if you don't use you truck for heavy work this might be something to look at, i have one and it is very nice to put my camping stuff in their and don't have to worry about my stuff rubbing the paint off the walls of my truck plus nothing slides all over the place and the kids love to play in their. don't know what the line-x cost but i paid 425 installed.
