Line x Question

I have a 2000 f150 lariat. I am getting line x tis coming friday it has had a bedliner in it and I went to remove the tailgate peice and put screws back in but they wont go tight without the bedliner they have the head then a short shaft the maybe half inch of threads. Do I need to get new bolts or will the line x guy take care of that. Thanks

I just had my bed Line-X this month and I had to replace my panel on my
tailgaight. If your guy does a good job like the guy who did my truck you should not have any problems at all. Just talk to him before they start. I had all of my bed bolts taken out and the plastic caps on the front wall by the cap because I did not want these sprayed.

The problem you are having comes form the bolts that are used on the tailgate piece are not the factory bolts and the shoulder prevents the bolt from going all the way down to hold the panel tight. If the guy doing the spray does it thick enough on the panel it will not be a problem if not you will need to get new bolts without the shoulder.

Pleasantly Surprised

Well, I just got home from picking up my "new to me" truck - '06 F350. It had the drop in from the dealer. I have to say the new drop in is better than the first one I had, but not much. I noticed it had a spray in when I stopped to fuel the first time, and I though - I gotta check this out. Long story short, it wound up being a Line X. Now, the problem I have is the screws holding the tailgate piece.

Will I have to get them at the dealer? Will the local Line-X place possibly have them? (I'll call them about it maybe tomorrow.) Not knowing about this, I stripped out one of the holes...

Well, I called my local Line X yesterday.... He was a lot of help. He said when they received trucks with drop ins he just went to Home Depot or Lowe's to get new screws. He said they are metric, but you have a lot of choices with the heads. I'll be going there. The way my luck has been lately, I just knew they were "special" ones....
