Anyone have any experience having a brush guard Line-X'd? I have a Ranch Hand Brush Guard I'm thinking about having done. Trying to decide between black and having it colored to match the Dark Stone of my truck. Probably done in Xtra since I don't want it to fade. Can this be done/made to look decent? Any ideas on price? Difference between the two?

 

I had my bumpers done 2 years ago and they have held up very well. They clean up quickly and haven't gotten damaged from rocks, road debris or love bug guts. The love bug guts will eat paint, don't know if you get them where you are. I'd say either way, get the X-tra.

Thanks for the replies. Those guards look great! Just made up my mind for me. Wish I was a little closer to your shop TruckGasm, I'd definitely come see you if so. Now I just gotta decide between black and Dark Stone. I originally thought about going with the Pueblo Gold to match the rocker panel color, but think one of the other two will look better. Any opinions on what will look best?

 

Both will look good. But, consider:

1. The color match will be more unique because most people have black guards.
2. The color match will be more expensive.

It works great as long as they encapsulate the brushguard. I had my Nerf bars and brushguard done many years ago and recently the Nerf bars began peeling off because they did not encapsulate them well enough. Good thing was they stood behind the work and stripped them down and redid them.

The worst part about them is dirt gets into the little nooks and can be a PITA to clean.

 

anyone got there wheel wells sprayed??? i got my bed liner sprayed im happy with it.

 

I know there is no way i would do that. Like i said above it is hard to clean them off once they get road dirt and such in the nooks. I can't imagine how dirty the wheel wells would always look if you did them.

 

I agree except for if you get the optional Xtra product. Xtra is a LOT easier to clean. We always recommend Xtra for wheel wells if cleaniness is a factor.

 

I have that on my Nerf bars and I am telling you it sucks to clean the dirt out of all the little nooks. I have to use a APC and a very stiff bristled brush and it takes at least an hour to clean each bar. And that is just from the dirty roads when it rains.

 

TG does this GMC have line'x paint.. the hood looks textured? and does the side mirrors and top plastic molding on the bumper!

 

Richard D: Your experience is different from my customers as well as my father-in-law whose lower front facia on his Nissan Altima is color matched with Xtra who drives back and forth from Florida to Texas. For example, I can take off bug juice off his Altima with a rag and water in just a few seconds. LINE-X Xtra does not have as deep of nooks as regular LINE-X. Automotive soap and water and maybe a light brush if really soiled. But, OK, your experience is different.

4.2: Yes to all your questions. It looks like it has a heavy texture, but it really has a very light texture. The sun reflections perhaps make it appear to have a heavy texture in the digital pic.

 

what kind of wieght does line-x add when adding it all over your truck and what kind of prices? that looks good reminds me of the bass boats with the metal flake paint!

 

my bed-liner by line X was $450, but the dealer took my truck over to line X for me, if i had went to the shop myself it would of be $399.
