BakFlip Question
BakFlip Question
Thinking about getting the BakFlip cover for my 05 KR. I have a question that I can't get answered from BakFlip though. When the cover is opened (or up against the rear window) does the cover make contact with any part of the body or window? I can't get BakFlip to answer and I have searched the forums, especially for a picture, but can not find a side shot of the cover in the opened position. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anybody have any real feedback on the cover so far?

He's right, no contact unless you really push it back too hard. These are great units, although somebody tried to break into mine and ripped the rubber seal off the side. They didn't make it in, that's the good part. Just don't know how waterproof it'll be without that seal though.
Your Review of the BakFlip
I am thinking about getting the BakFlip for my 06 SuperCrew, I was just wondering how you liked yours? I think it is what I am looking for as long as it is waterproof is the main thing for me!
Thanks for all the info you all provided. I am leaning towards purchasing this cover now its just trying to find the place with the best deal. Again, thanks to all who added some input.

Donkey,
Just another option for you - I have an Advance Cover on my truck. In fact, I'm trading the scab for a screw on sat, and keeping the cover and putting it on the new truck.

I haven't seen the BakFlip yet. I think it's a pretty new product. I felt the Advance over was constructed a little better than the k-cover (similar product).
The Advance is a 2 or four panel folding, stacking, lockable cover, and can be removed solo within minutes.

Well, I order the BakFlip cover about two weeks ago and it came in last night. It took about an hour to install (if that) and so far so good. I guess we will see how the glue holds up on this one.
Truckgasm, was the glue issue common on a specific model or was it somewhat widespread?
Incidentally, I also (actually the wife got it for me for my birthday) had Line-X sprayed in last Friday. For my first weeks opinion, I think this product is much better than the Rhinos that I have come across. The only problem with the Line-X was that the closest dealer is about an hour away and currently they only offer black and do not offer X-tra. All in all though, was in and out in just about 2 hours.

Let me say that I have nothing against the Bak company. I'm just reporting what I've read. The pics are from a Honda Ridgline forum. The Bakflip thread is up to 41 pages. They are also reporting that Bakflip has a recall on some of them. Anyway, that's where the info is coming from.
Congrats on the LINE-X! I hope you are pleased and the product serves you well.

I spoke with one of the owners the other day about some new literature and a new display model and he didn't mention or ask if I had had any problems with them like this (which I haven't). He did tell me they had done some modifications to the cover and made it more heavy duty than it was and they are really excited about the new features and believe it will be a real boost.
