Fiberglass tonneau

I'm looking for a paintable fiberglass Tonneau cover for my 07 SCAB STX w 5.5 bed. is there anything out there less than $1000? I know that you get what you pay for, but I really, really hate soft tonneau's and all the fiberglass tonneau's I've found are $1000+. I never paid more than 800 for a painted fiberglass tonneau, and my last 2 were ******* covers for GMC trucks. any help would be greatly appreciated.

anybody have one of these? http://www.checkerpro.com/hardcovers.html

I'm sure it's not the best in the world, but I like the low profile covers.
if anybody here has one please let me know if you like it or hate it.

I've got a Jason Rage top. It's painted black, and looks great. I know there are 3 different models of Jason's top and all were less than $900 here in denver.

This A.R.E. bed cover is just under $1k. It's well worth it to, I had one on my '04 STX.

I put a color matched Leer on and it was right at $1k, well worth it though. You also have to consider inflation, I paid about $700 for a topper 5 yrs ago.

The Undercover (plastic) tonneau's are suppose to be paintable, though I've yet to hear of anyone painting one. I'd think it should be easy enough with todays plastic paints.

The Leer is a copy of the ARE and not a great one at that. If you look at the front corners you will see the big gap where the lid flares out to keep from hitting the bedsides. The ARE LSX series tonneau doesn't do this and fits tight to the bed all the way around (look at the right rear corner of the Leer how much it stands away frot he bed) ARE gets the best fit with their new scissors hinge system that allows the lid to lift up and rotate away from the truck bed as you raise it.

I sell the ARE LSX for $995 painted and installed and the ARE LSII that is pictured above for $895 painted and installed. The LSII is more comparable to the Leer as far as the fit goes since it use the standard hinge system but still has a nice looking and easier working lock/latch system.
