Hey Bryndon!!!!

I know how much you love answering questions about the Dualliner. So I have a few more.

-First in my other thread you stated that the sides and front are made of Polyethylene. Is this the same material that most drop-in liners are made of. If so wouldn't they eventually warp like most one piece drop-ins do. If not what is the major differences in Polyethylene and what drop-ins are made of.

-How do the sides and bed mat hold up against scratching. I know it is a truck bed and it is not supposed to look pretty. But I would still want it to look decent.

-Is there a reason that the mad is flat on the bottom instead of having channels molded in to match the channels on the floor of the bed.

-Any other ideas for attaching the tailgate pieces come up yet?? I am not too keen on drilling into my tailgate.

-What is the cheapest e-tailer you can buy one from. The lowest, and most common price, is $319 shipped. Anyone have a lower price that you know of??

I am still in the deciding stages between the Dualliner and Bedrug. Decision will be made soon.

Thanks

I appreciate your interest, so I put my answers between your questions.

-First in my other thread you stated that the sides and front are made of Polyethylene. Is this the same material that most drop-in liners are made of. If so wouldn't they eventually warp like most one piece drop-ins do. If not what is the major differences in Polyethylene and what drop-ins are made of.

The material is very similar and it does expand and contract. That is engineered into our designs. Basically, when a drop in expands, you have a huge sheet (about 10' x 10' for an 8' bed) trying to move. Polyethylene expands a lot in one direction, little in the other. They have to deal with expansion across the bed of about 2" (from freezing to 80 degrees) - the liner warps. I have to deal with 20% of that over a 2' (height of the bed) area. You will never know the liner is in a controlled movement state.

-How do the sides and bed mat hold up against scratching. I know it is a truck bed and it is not supposed to look pretty. But I would still want it to look decent.

The sides can be scratched, although after dropping 24 - 20# landscaping blocks around 20 times, I only managed to put 1 - 4" scrape into the side... and I had to point it out to people. Basically, a spray in would have had a crushed wheel well - a BedRug is hard to say, the wheel well would be battered, but you wouldn't see it because the rug would rebound.
I have never seen a scratch on a mat. It can be cut - a new razor knife blades and 3 or 4 high pressure passes will cut through. But I have hauled bare engine blocks, torn sheetmetal, you name it, and never seen a scratch. In fact, my mat still looks new after 18 months of heavy usage.

-Is there a reason that the mad is flat on the bottom instead of having channels molded in to match the channels on the floor of the bed.

The easy reason is that's the way all mats are made. It's also easier on the knees when crawling around the bed.

-Any other ideas for attaching the tailgate pieces come up yet?? I am not too keen on drilling into my tailgate.

I've mentioned two that I have been working with (no connection and 3M double sided tape). I have one more that I have not yet started pursuing, because I don't have a parts source yet. A lot of guys don't bother fastening the bottom, but I don't necessarily like doing that.

-What is the cheapest e-tailer you can buy one from. The lowest, and most common price, is $319 shipped. Anyone have a lower price that you know of??

Not that I know of, but if you look at how the DualLiner performs and holds up compared to everything else, $318 is a steal!

I have used every style of bedliner, they all have a place - none could survive me, other than the DualLiner. Over the weekend, I "tossed" what was left of the front end of a Ranger (buddy hit a pole) after I cut it up - entire front half of the frame with the suspension - into the bedliner. Didn't leave a mark.

Feel free to keep asking questions if you need more info!
