I had mine sprayed yesterday, and no you don't have to have the tailgate down for a while. Line-x completely dries in 3-5 seconds after it hits the bed surface.here are some pics of my truck if your interested.

Sounds strange, I dropped my truck off around 9:00 and it was done at 12:00they told me to hold off on any heavy loading or abuse for the first 24 hours after that your fine.

If you got regular LINE-X, it does dry in 4 seconds, but the chemicals totally cure in 24 hours. You can use it right away, but we recommend you not put anything SUPER heavy on it until the chemicals totally cure. You can put the tailgate up right away.

If you got LINE-X with UV protection (Xtra or Ultra Shield) cure time is the same and it's best to leave the tailgate down until it totally cures.

It weighs .7 pounds per square foot at 1/8" thickness. Average weight per truck is about 70 to 80 pounds depending on the size of the truck.

Sounds to be like they damaged your tailgate and need time to find a replacement

My entire truck was done in an hour. My buddy's truck took an hour today.

No need to leave anything.

Sounds odd to me

I found out a life altering answer to a question I had all along with spray in liners..... How do they get such nice straight lines with the over the bed spray in liners, without leaving a scratch on the paint. They have tape imbeded with string. After the liner is sprayed, they pull the tape back on itself and leaves a nice crisp line... When I noted this to them,, they told me now they would have to kill me lol.

You can buy tape with wire within the tape. You pull the wire right after the bedliner is sprayed and it makes a nice straight and smooth cut.
