The national database has only been around for a couple of years. Prior to that, the warranties were issued on a standard form by the dealer but there was no registration process.

I meant, do I need the papers for a warranty? When I said that I don't think I'll ever need it anyways. I was saying that because I use this truck less of a truck than my last. I gave that one a work out and that Line-X held up to it. Now I have a trailer for any major work and my truck has a Bed Rud on the Line-X. So I really can't see it ever needing fixed. Are the papers needed?

Well, here's what happens in the real world. If you have some sort of problem, and it's a big problem, the dealer is going to want the warranty document. The reason is because the dealer can get reimbursed by Corp. but needs to submit documentation along with pictures, etc. If the problem is not such a big deal, the dealer really doesn't need any docs, won't submit anything to Corp., and will just fix the problem and eat the cost.

So, will you have a problem? Hopefully not and probably not, but......

Thanks truckGasm, I'll call my dealer about it and ask for one. I didn't know this could be an issue.

OK, good. Like I said, you probably won't need them, but you know, Murphy's Law!

Even if the VIN is wrong you can still look it up by the owners name, you'ed be fine with or without the VIN being updated.

How did you do this? My experience has shown, and many accessory dealers around here say that the adhesive on the back of the velcro tabs doesn't stick well to spray-ins. I have found that to be the case also, as have several of my colleagues.

How do you keeps your adhered to the liner?

It's holding in place pretty good. I just used the adhesive kit it came with.

I want one to make my camping and fishing trips a bit easier when out in the cold overnight. I got the topper to keep me dry, and currently just have a mat to keep it soft. Maybe I will just order a new one and give it a shot.

Thanks for responding.

You can use 3M Emblem Adhesive, available at most automotive stores.

As far as a warranty goes, I had my truck sprayed over seven years ago and my opinion is the Line-X will outlast the truck by a longshot.

It won't even be close.
