Got Line-X'd: No Sticker or warranty info?
Had my bed Line-X'd by local shop who has multiple locations and had to take my truck to a different location to spray. Looks like they did a good job, but I did not get a Line-X sticker/badge in the bed or any warranty info, just a receipt. Charge was $379 + tax. Should I check into this?
|
If you can send me an email or PM with your full name or your vehicle's VIN, I can search the database and see if it has been entered. If it has, I can print it and send it to you. How's that for service?!

Weird. We hand it to the customer before they leave. It takes 60 seconds to enter a warranty.

Thanks for your replies. I called the shop in question and they said they would get one for me. Also said they enter VIN's on all vehicles. I'll post the result. I sent my VIN to truckgasm (great service BTW) so he will check also. Never can be too sure.

Forgot to ask, what about the sticker/badge? Just trying to cover myself.
|
I just checked the database, it has NOT been entered as of 3:25 PM CST. The warranty tag is not required for warranty work.
I'll check the database periodically. |
Well, since TruckGasm is the local Line-X guru I guess I'll throw my question out there. I had my truck done through the dealer. On my warrenty it list the dealers name instead of mine. Will I have any trouble trying to get my liner fixed under warrenty because of that? I'm assuming it doesn't matter but I just wanted to check. Thank you in advance.

No, it will not matter. It's very common for the dealer's name to appear on the warranty certificate. So, your covered, you can sleep tonight.
|
OK, the warranty IS now showing up. Your address number is 3399.
You can sleep tonight also, but preferably NOT with Coastietech :D |
Ok, not really sure what this means but........The shop brought over a warranty certificate and I thought I was in the clear, until I read it. The VIN was wrong, as was the year of the truck, my phone number, and the spray date. I kindly called the shop that sprayed it and insisted that it be corrected. They sent a new, corrected certificate and only the spray date is off a few days. Actually sprayed last Thursday 10/26 (cert says 10/30). Thanks for letting me know the badge is not required-I'd have to pull teeth to get that I guess-no biggie.
In the shops defense, the price was fair and they did pick up my vehicle and return it when they said they would. Truckgasm, please check the VIN again. Thank you! |
Truckgasm, thank you Sir. I'll take your advice. The address of the shop is 3399.
|
Oops, yea, yours is 4814. I'm gonna send you an email with an Excel attachment. The file contains a screen shot of the warranty input screen with your info. The only info that will show to be incorrect is the dealer number, which will show mine, not his.

TruckGasm, How about this one. I've had both of my trucks Line-X-ed through the dealer. I have never recieved any warranty papers on either one? Does it even matter or should I get the warranty papers, not that I think I'll ever need it. |
Well, yea, your entitled to a warranty and thus I think you should have the papers. If we apply a bedliner for a dealer, we put the warranty in the glove box, but that's not to say all LINE-X dealers do that.
The national database has only been around for a couple of years. Prior to that, the warranties were issued on a standard form by the dealer but there was no registration process. |
