Bedliners
Yes, that's a no-no. As a matter of fact, there is another LINE-X dealer near my city that is spraying at a thickness that is below what is required. I've notified LINE-X Corporate of this matter.

No, I don't think that's steep at all, I think that price is dead on correct (for a short bed, under the rail). First of all, bedliner products are petroleum based and all brands have experienced an increase. Also, not all bedliners products are the same. Typically, the 100% polyurethane brands (Rhino) will be less expensive than the brands that are blends of polyurethane/polyurea (LINE-X).
I had a Bedrug in my old Lightning since I bought it Day 1. I liked it a lot. With the tonneau cover on, on a warm day it would take a day to dry when I got it wet.
The only thing I did not like about it (and this doesn't apply to you guys that live in areas that do not see freezing temps) is that after I went threw the car wash and it got a little wet at the base of the tailgate I could not open the tailgate very easily because the water pooled and froze at the base of the tailgate. Also had a hell of a time closing it. It got to the point that I pulled the adhesive strip off that holds the top on. But the issue I guess is the crappy seal from the stock tonneau to the top of the tailgate.
I just bought an 06 and plan on installing another Bedrug.
I have a ?. What's up with the big tailgate gaps on the post 03' trucks?

When I put a Bedrug in my '05 F-150 I made sure that the piece between the tailgate and the body folds up into the bed instead of going down into the gap. I did not have any trouble opening or closing the tailgate after that.
