Bedrug vs battery acid

I bought a new battery and put in the back of my truck. When I got home, I went in the house, not even thinking about the battery. A couple days later, I went to get the battery and found that it was on it's side and acid had leaked out onto my Bedrug. I don't know how many days it was on it's side, but there was absolutely no damage at all to the Bedrug. I can't believe it. It is one tough product.

The locking position is no big deal at all. One site mentioned that none of these tonneau covers are completely water tight due to other parts on the bed like the rear gate. I ordered a free video from retrax or Pace (cant remember) on there product and its suppose to tell you how they are better then all the other ones. We will see. Pace also has 2 models, one that requires drilling but the price was $682 and the clamp on type was $732. I`m sure i`m sold on the Rollbak.
know if we're thinkin right. Have you watched the install? Looks straightforward. Should be within a week I hope. Then it's Line-X I think and hurry and cover with bedrug before wife sees the spray in liner. lol. I need to post some pics of the rig. White 2005 s-crew, leveled, with wheels that are more solid looking. They look nice w/white but I dont know if i'd like as much if it were darker color. Soon as I learn how to upload I'll post one. What year is yours? cant remember.

Mine is an 05 super crew xlt in black. Not my choice of colors and a nightmare to keep clean. I had a choice of 5 colors and when I left the dealer to talk to my wife 2 hrs later 3 trucks were sold leaving me with black and dark pebble stone. I saw the instructions on one of the web sites on the install and it looked more involved then what I thought it would be but not worth paying someone else to do it. Money is tight for me so all I did was tint the front windows 15% and running boards. I have a 2'' autosprings kit under my back seat thats it. After the rug and Rollbak comes the tires and rims. I need the rug in the back because my 2 year old son loves playing back there and climbing through the little window in the back. Definitly let me know how the install goes.
