BedRug question
BedRug question
New guy here, recently bought a 2000 F150 Lariat 4x4, SuperCab. I bought a BedRug liner and it is on the way, but I just thought of something; Will I be able to use my tie downs or does the BedRug cover them up? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
What I did is I took my tiedowns off and re inserted just the tiedown screws. Instal your BedRug, then run your hand over the rug and feel for the screw heads. Cut a small slit with an exacto knife where the screwheads are (dont worry, the material wont run) then take that one screw out, thread it through the hole of the tiedown and screw it in right where the cut is. Repeat for the other screw. Might take a few tries to find the threads, but it's not hard. Do this one screw at a time or else it'll be harder to find the holes.
I think you'll like your BedRug. I've had mine a little over a year and no complaints.
Good luck.

This will not harm the Bedrug. It's foam will basically seal itself back up, plus you are gonna cinch those tiedowns back over those holes anyway.
good luck
The instructions for the Bedrug say you can mount the tie downs outside the bedrug or cut a small slit and let the tie downs protrude. I chose to take the tie downs off, insert the bedrug, and mount tie downs on the outside. I felt like it secured the Bedrug a little better. There should be a couple of small indentions in the Bedrug at each tie down location. You'll love the Bedrug. Good luck.
Thanks valley, I think I like that idea the best. Mattadams, which way did you do it, because I really like your results.

I just got my bedrug last week and installed it, I also took out the tie-down and installed them over the rug, but 1 of the screws stripped and I still havnt been able to get it out! I hate have 3 tie downs done and one empty spot. I have drive Visegrips, the Gator Claw, tried to loosen it up wiht WD-40, nothing is working. It not is begun to start to losen. Does anyone have any idea on how to get it out?
I thought someone was sending me on a 'mission' when I was first told about this.
Look for left-handed drill bits. They really exist. Nine times out of ten, you'll drill a short way into the screw and then it'll spin right off because you're drilling counter-clockwise.
