Recommend a Tonneau Cover
Hey do any of you have a picture of a snug top hard tonneau on a 1997 through 2004 Ford truck, 6.6 foot bed? I am selling one and need a pic of one on a truck. It doesn't fit on my Harley truck. I would just like to borrow the pic. Thanks
Hababi-
How easily removed is the undercover? I can see that it is light....but what all is involved in taking it on and off? Also how theft-secure is it?
JDMnAR-
How easily removed is the retrax? I'd probably be taking it off more than once or twice a year.
Thanks for the replies!

To remove it,
- simply unlock it,
- open cover,
- release clips on hydraulic pistons (helps to have a buddy or wife on other side from you, not heavy, but awkward)
- clip pistons in the clip provided with one hand,
- ease rear down,
- pull two small pins (one each side front, I substituted stainless hitch pins for the provided rings that you have to "unscrew", they are like split ring key rings),
- and then ease it forwards just a hair and lift off front tabs and walk it to rear.
- Hang cover on wall mount.
The cover is molded black with a pebel grain surface so even if you get up and walk on it, you aren't scratching it. I've been on mine waxing roof of truck, cover just wipes off. I watched salesman get up and dance and jump on his. Some products like Liquid Ice work well on it too. Weighs like 56 pounds total. When cover is off, mounting hardware is out of the way.
One of my locks was stiff, I used spray lithium grease shot through the key slot and it's smooth as silk now. Locks are stainless inside so no rust and have hinged caps that keep out trash.
On a hot day in the sun, the cover expands some but when cold, it draws back up.
The key ring like split rings at front, like I say, I replaced mine with faster stainless steel hitch pins.

Front mount inside the bed, they come with clamps to secure with no drilling. I later did drill some to add tie downs inside the bed and to make sure these mounts stay put once I made my last adjustment.

Rear mount inside bed, that red thing is a lever you move to disconect the hydraulic piston assist and swing up and clip in a clip when removing the cover. The red lever can come loose if you are hamfisted, but it snaps back in place if you find it.

My cover open. I added a loop since this pic at the hand strap point so I could tie down for short low speed trip to the dumpsters to unload my 55 gallon trash cans once in a while.

Cover on truck.

And here is a pic with a mix of ice and snow on it.

There came a time when it was piled even higher, but I didn't get a picture.

I have an undercover and love it. Installation took under 30 minutes. Support from those folks has been great as I had a lock issue and without questions, two new locks arrived, no questions asked. The thing is 100% water tight, removed with the removal of two ring pins and the quick release of the two support shocks. Also it sits above the rails and gives you height room some others do not. Example, I can stand my shop vac upright under my Undercover where on others I could not.
