The hardest part of this was getting the assembly out of the door haha. Thanks a lot for the help.

Does anyone have an old broken regulator assembly they could send me? I will pre pay for shipping. I just had my third one go out and while repairing it I damaged the motor brushes. I would be more than happy to pay for one if necessary. Thanks, James.

I just tackled this job today. Overall not too bad. Crazy to think some people pay a dealer $200 to do it.

Oh and it is nice to see that Ford is still using crappy door panel designes. Nothing has changed from the 92-96 trucks I guess.

Vanquish, if I can get home before the garbage man picks up the trash I will pull it out and send it to ya.

I should have checked here first... I was on my way to the fire station yesterday and I went to roll my window down and heard the "pop" thought the thing busted the glass. we took it a part and had no idea on how to fix it. Called around and all the dealerships and the all wanted about $350. Luckily I found a mechanic to do it today for $200... not as cheap as some of you guys got it done yourself, but it looks like this info will be needed in the future for my other 3 windows... augh!

Man o man! I wish I had heard of this site sooner! The driver side on my '04 XLT Scab went down a couple of months ago. I had just been bragging to one of my chevy friends how I have 70K on my baby and the only thing I've had to replace was the battery and brakes! :o Sounds like the same problem everyone is describing. I was lucky enough to find a body shop to repair it for around $250. Next time, and I'm sure there will be a next time, I know how to fix it myself! Thanks for all the good info!

Different Part Numbers.

I just checked on RockAuto, as this just happened to my 2005 Lariat SuperCab. It does show different part numbers from 2005 to 2006 for the same truck. I saw that a previous poster mentioned that everyone either had a 2004 or 2005 with this issue. I wonder if Ford addressed this in the 2006.

Does anyone know if the two part numbers are interchangeable? Maybe an upgrade?

Thanks,

Devildog101

Anyone care to pm the parts number for either the doorman brand or motorcraft brand regulator for an 2005 supercrew rear driver-side door?

Does anyone have some details on reversing the connector blades? The motor side connector on my new Dorman regulator is sealed, and does not utilize the pigtail from the old assembly. Looking at the female connector, I don't see any visable tabs that would allow me to remove the blades and reverse the wires.

Great write up!!

I am getting ready to order three regulators for my truck and a couple for some other friends. Have you guys found one brand to be better than others out there? The Dormans can be had for under $100 now, but I wanted to check and see how these are holding up..

Thanks!

The Dorman seems to be a little stronger than the OEM. I have used both.
