I performed this service earlier today; unfortunately it did not fix my problem, but the tutorial was spot on. I proceeded to the next step in the process which is checking the wires between the cab and the drivers door, low and behold I found a broken ground wire after repairing that and since I was in the neighborhood I looked around some more and found the power wire was about to break so I repaired that as well. Bam the system works outstanding espically since I have a newly serviced switch as well. Hope this info helps the next person. BTW Ground = 12 AWG Blk, Power = 12 AWG Lt Bl / Blk. Work performed 10/30/12

My 04 rear window died, I checked out the dealer for switch parts and after being quoted $111 for a passenger switch, I searched on here for a solution, found this post. Cleaned all my switches while watching football today and all works as new!!

New member, Tormil, tried to post in this thread but instead, mistakenly used the reported post button. Thought I wouild post for him what he had to share:

Thanks for the information we were close to purchasing a new window switch and most likely a regulator too. Your photos and step by step really helped us. Thanks again for helping a fellow F-150 owner.

Just wanted to bump this thread. I actually cleaned a troublesome switch this morning. I hadn't read this write up since he first posted, but I remembered the information. Hopefully someone new, or old, will see this thread and save themselves some money like I did.
